What's in a name- a guide to financial advisers
Our industry is going through a period of change, brought on by new regulations in part aimed at increasing transparency for the consumer. The key changes are that from January 2013 commission will be banned and advisers will have to be qualified to a higher level than previously required. Seems like a good idea.

Paying Education or Care fees tax effectively.
Any client who is paying any money toward educational costs (for their child or their spouse’s child) or for care fees (for any relative) could be better off exploring a trust option to make the payment, as once earmarked under a trust they will take the money outside of their own Estate for IHT purposes.
